OTT is a prepaid voucher sold at tills and spaza-level retailers. Same idea as 1Voucher, different issuer, and operators do not always take both.
Often the only voucher stocked at smaller retailers, which makes it the practical option outside the big chains.

Free OTT voucher advance: it does not exist
Thousands of people a month search for a free OTT voucher advance, a free OTT voucher code, or an OTT voucher generator. The honest answer is that none of those exist. OTT is a prepaid product. The issuer sells vouchers for cash and does not lend them, advance them, or give them away.
Every generator, advance service and giveaway group offering free OTT codes is a scam. The usual versions harvest your number and ID details, charge a release fee for a code that never arrives, or have you complete surveys that pay the scammer. A PIN that was not printed on a slip somebody paid for will not load, on a betting site or anywhere else.
How to buy an OTT voucher using Standard Bank Instant Money
Instant Money is cash parked on a phone number, so the route to an OTT voucher runs through a till rather than through the banking app.
- Take the Instant Money voucher number and PIN to a till that pays Instant Money out.
- Withdraw it as cash at the counter.
- Buy the OTT voucher with that cash in the same visit. The PIN prints on the slip.
We have not confirmed a direct Instant Money to OTT purchase inside the Standard Bank app, so we will not claim one. The till route above needs nothing more than the SMS on your phone.
How to buy an OTT voucher on the Capitec app
We have not confirmed an OTT voucher button inside the Capitec app, so this page will not walk you through a menu we have not seen. What is confirmed on operator banking pages: money in a Capitec account can fund a betting site directly, through instant EFT everywhere or through Capitec Pay where the cashier carries it, which skips the voucher entirely. The detail is on betting sites that accept Capitec.
If you specifically want a voucher, for example to hand the PIN to someone else, draw cash with your Capitec card and buy the OTT voucher over the counter.
Convert airtime to an OTT voucher: no official route
There is no official airtime to OTT conversion. Vouchers are bought with money, and airtime stops being money the moment it is loaded.
Informal airtime buyers on social media offer cash for airtime at well below face value, when they pay at all, and there is no recourse when one disappears. If the end goal is a betting deposit, read bet with airtime first: the direct route people hope for does not exist, and the workarounds are priced accordingly.
Where OTT is confirmed
Read from their own published banking pages on 3 August 2026: 10bet, TopBet, Playabets and Betway all take OTT deposits. TopBet also pays withdrawals out as an OTT PIN by SMS, capped at R3,000, which makes it one of the few full cash-in, cash-out loops that never touches a bank account. The rest of that map is on withdrawing without a bank account.
Before you deposit
A deposit is the easy half. The step that catches people out is FICA, which every licensed South African operator is legally required to complete before it releases a withdrawal. If you deposit today and try to withdraw tomorrow without having sent documents, the delay you hit is FICA, not the payment method. What FICA actually needs.
Because OTT Voucher does not need a bank account, it is worth reading the unbanked route first. Depositing without an account is straightforward. Getting a withdrawal out without one is the part that is not.
